A little gem that conquered the world
The strength of balcony is probably at the crossroads of many contemporary design trends: this balcony table is versatile, durable, elegant and minimalist. Made of high quality materials, it is also weather resistant. Its foldable structure allows it to be easily stored when not in use and its versatility makes it a multi-functional piece. It adjusts to different heights and can also be used as an outdoor breakfast table, a workplace, a reading room or simply a support for your favorite plants.
French creation, the balcony came from the proactive and pragmatic spirit of trained architect Félix Miquel, who launched his own business in 2019 creating his first table. “The idea of attaching a small tablet to an existing city poster, I wanted to create one with my own design”, he explains on his website. His company of products designed to be used with existing furniture was born – in the case of the table in question, the balcony railing. To make them, he uses as few materials as possible and chooses, as he always does, to use reclaimed wood.
A startup born during the pandemic
Confined during the covid-19 pandemic, Félix lets his mind wander. The need to utilize even the smallest outdoor space is imperative. However modest they may be, they are an escape for each of us. This is where the idea of the miniature table was born, which would succeed: “I quickly realized that there was a demand. We had to create the offer. A small problem: I have nothing, almost no machines, no workshop and only my own hands to produce. » With his own hands and from home, he started working on a balcony table. After a few appearances in the media, he increased the production, eventually launching this startup, which today sells products made in France from steel and recycled wood.
