Presented after its release as an affordable alternative to the Meta Quest Pro, the Quest 3 should soon be entitled to a “literal” version. Images of an internal presentation show the existence of a new VR headset called Meta Quest 3S. Posted by user u/LuffySanKira on Reddit, the screenshots compare the two Meta helmets.
They reveal several interesting features, starting with the design. The Quest 3s would be more impressive than the standard model, which could be explained by the use of Fresnal lenses in the Quest 2. It would remind that of the Oculus Go.
It will display a definition of 1,832 x 1,920 pixels with 20 ppd (pixels per degree) per eye, compared to 2,064 x 2,208 pixels (25.5 ppd, Infinite Display) for the Quest 3. The future model will be available in 128 GB versions. and 256 GB and will not perform as well as the 512 GB of its big brother. In terms of performance, it is rumored that the headset would benefit from the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip as the Quest 3. Mixed, the Quest 3s would combine augmented reality and virtual reality.

Far from the 1,199.99 euros of the Quest Pro, the Quest 3 already costs “only” 549.99 euros. It represents a more affordable solution to discover this still niche market, with the Meta Quest 2.
