Living room hatches 2024: new Refin surfaces in the spotlight

Ceramiche Refin returns to the forefront at Coverings, the most important fair in North America for professionals in the ceramics sector. The company presents the Italian excellence that results from its unique approach to ceramic creation, that creative process that combines craftsmanship, nature, design and technology to give life to porcelain stoneware collections that resonate with emotions.

The Italian company arrives at the American event with the latest collections, which aroused great interest among the European public during the previous edition of Cersaie: Cera, Namib, Tamashi, Coquille and Halo.
Participating in Incubations is also an opportunity to perform BEATa new collection inspired by stone, and CERA SCAGLIEan interesting expansion of the range, a result of the ongoing research that this extraordinary collection continues to inspire.

CERA
Refin’s experimental approach is highlighted in this collection, which is inspired by wax work and represents a completely new creative perspective for the world of ceramic surfaces.

Based on an original idea by Refin’s Tile Designers, research was launched based on observations of wax and its transformations and experiments carried out to translate the same visual and tactile sensations onto ceramic tiles. Refin was thus able to recreate the plasticity of wax by developing a graphic design of great depth, where small cracks, cavities and traces – reproducing the effect resulting from the molding and subsequent solidification of the wax – seem to dance lightly on a background that alternates. light and dark areas.

Thanks to the interesting research contributions that this collection exhibited, the company’s journey of experimentation with Cera continued after its launch at the previous Cersaie, leading to a new evolution of the range.

Except for the special finish Cerasilk which characterizes the collection, known for its silky softness, which evokes the fluidity of wax, a new matte finish, Matt Pro, was introduced. Pleasantly soft to the touch and subtly textured, it offers increased slip resistance and widens its range of applications in the field of design.

In addition, the constant experimentation and unique artisanal approach of Refin tile designers led to the creation of Cera Scaglie. The Scaglie variety is the result of a completely manual approach: fragments of solid wax were added to the freshly poured wax, sinking into the liquid material and stopping at different levels, resulting in varying sharpness or cloudiness. This variation gives rise to a fascinating play of perceptions, where the interaction of colors with the background creates a unique and unique graphic work.

BEAT
In the new BEAT collection, which Refin presents as a world premiere at Coverings, the ancient variability of nature has been interpreted with a fresh and contemporary perspective to create ceramic surfaces with a strong personality, where different types of stones coexist.

The collection combines natural traces and graphic elements with sophisticated color transitions, creating an overall balanced composition. The three-dimensional details of the pebbles and the subtle chiaroscuro effects give depth and realism to the surfaces.

In the Beat collection, the materiality of natural stone is further enhanced in the surface Ribbedwhich is the result of an innovative production technique 3Deep™ developed by the company. This technique superimposes a specially designed graphic on the surface to recreate the shadow of the thickness. With its textile reflection, Ribbed stands out for its pronounced three-dimensionality, maximizing the visual effect of the material with each play of light, enhancing depth and volume.

In addition to the Ribbed Variation, the collection also includes two proposals in a multi-format kit: Linearwhich combines large slabs of different sizes, and Carvedwhich is also composed of different formats and is mostly characterized by its unique and carved edge, making each piece clear and unique.

These decorative proposals enrich the Beat range, which includes five colors with a natural atmosphere, with warm and cool tones, four formats and two finishes: Matt-Pro and C2 Grip. Beat is therefore a complete and versatile collection, ideal for meeting many design requirements.
