A must-have accessory for long summer evenings, the garden lamp is on display from every angle. It is even possible to make your own model, a solar version. Explanations

A few days before the official arrival of summer, and as the weather starts to improve, it’s time to prepare our exterior. Large gardens or small urban balconies receive a makeover to accommodate our moments of relaxation or transform into outdoor telecommuting spaces. So we bring out all the necessary equipment to create a bubble of relaxation. Garden table, outdoor rugs and other deck chairs are outside. But to make the most of this space, we also don’t forget to think about lighting.
If major retail brands and designers make us happy by thinking of amazing lighting fixtures, we can also have fun creating our own. With a little mischief and almost nothing, it is indeed possible to create your own outdoor lamp.
Besides having a custom piece, the good news is that you don’t need to know anything about electricity. Best of all, very little equipment is needed, only a good pair of scissors will come in handy.

How to make an outdoor lamp?

To get a garden lamp in the blink of an eye, start by finding a classic model. A Chinese find, a family souvenir or a light fixture left in the attic… they all come into play. The only instruction is to have a version with a lamp shade. We will also need a solar lamp, the one that sticks into the ground and from which the upper light part can be detached.
Then we follow the steps as indicated by Tara Panasiuk of the Instagram account @the_magnolia_mercantile.
To begin with, we cut the electric wire, which becomes useless. Then we unscrew the body from the head of the solar version. We put the latter in place of the bulb and that’s it.
Here we are with a beautiful lamp that suits us and that will automatically light up our summer tables as soon as night falls.
